A paternity test compares a child's DNA with the DNA of a possible father. When the tested man is the biological father, the probability of paternity is typically greater than 99.99%. When he is not, the result excludes him conclusively.
All three options use the same accredited laboratory analysis. The difference is how the samples are collected and what the result can be used for. If court use is even a possibility, choose the legal test, because a peace-of-mind result cannot be upgraded later.
